CHATROOM is a dark comedy by award-winning Irish playwright, Enda Walsh. Fast paced, moving and poignant, the play is an emotional rollercoaster of shifting power dynamics, sociopathic social experiments and psychological warfare.
Six teenagers meet online to discuss everything from Britney Spears to Willy Wonka to... suicide. When the depressed Jim joins the room and talks about ending his life. William and Eva decide to see how far they can push the newcomer to his breaking point.
From this chilling premise comes a blackly comedic. compelling, and unexpectedly uplifting play that tackles the issues of teenage life head-on and with great understanding.
This production of CHATROOM heads to The Central Coast, after a successful season in Newcastle.
